Community Apprentice Programme

The Foundation is supporting Envision’s Community Apprentice programme in London, loosely styled around the TV show The Apprentice.

It is an entirely youth-led initiative which takes place over the course of an academic year in which the young people come up with an issue they care about and design a project around that issue that has a positive impact on their community. The competition ends up in the Boardroom where the young people have to clearly articulate the social impact of their project and also their own personal development. The biggest social impact wins the competition. The programme requires teamwork, creative thinking, problem-solving and empathy amongst other hugely important life skills whilst at the same time inspiring people to be the change in their community.

Please watch the video below and also visit their website to find out more about Envision and the positive impact their programme is having on young people.

Future Funding

Having supported a broad range of inspiring and transformational projects over the Foundation’s 30 year history, the Trustees decided to embark upon a strategic review to ensure our grants were having the greatest impact. In 2020 we completed an intensive eight month programme led by Ten Years’ Time and we’re thrilled to be focussing all our efforts now on building Youth Power and Leadership with some fantastic partners.
