Outdoor Activity Programme

The Outward Bound Trust supports disadvantaged young people to begin a lifetime journey of personal development and adventure.

Their mission is to unlock the potential in young people through learning and adventures in the wild. They help disadvantaged young people to break free from the cycle of low skills, low aspirations and poor prospects in which they are caught. The young people who they help often lack support, opportunity and the thrill of adventures in the great outdoors. Very often they have untapped talent and low self-esteem.

Future Funding

Having supported a broad range of inspiring and transformational projects over the Foundation’s 30 year history, the Trustees decided to embark upon a strategic review to ensure our grants were having the greatest impact. In 2020 we completed an intensive eight month programme led by Ten Years’ Time and we’re thrilled to be focussing all our efforts now on building Youth Power and Leadership with some fantastic partners.
