Conservation of the Blaeu Globes

The Foundation has been a long standing friend of Winchester Cathedral and is currently supporting the Blaeu Globes conservation programme.

The Blaeu Globes, one terrestrial and one celestial, were acquired in the latter half of the 17th Century on the wishes of Bishop Morley and are considered to be of ‘exceptional historic and cartographic importance’ and will be one of 32 new exhibitions to be housed by the Cathedral.

Please view the pdf to find out more about the Blaeu Globes or visit Winchester Cathedral’s website to find out more about the Heritage Lottery Fund projects.

Future Funding

Having supported a broad range of inspiring and transformational projects over the Foundation’s 30 year history, the Trustees decided to embark upon a strategic review to ensure our grants were having the greatest impact. In 2020 we completed an intensive eight month programme led by Ten Years’ Time and we’re thrilled to be focussing all our efforts now on building Youth Power and Leadership with some fantastic partners.
